What qualities do I need to enter / survive in the field of software testing?
Entering is easier to survive in any field. Besides all the qualities required of an employee, you have to be smart, detailed, organized, skeptical and difficult. Competition is tight and you have to have an edge all the time. The playing field is hard and you have to have the courage to stay smiling. If this has already scared, a software testing job is not his forte - his place is elsewhere.

Remember that four need not always wait for job vacancies to submit an application; you can always submit an expression of interest to a company and hope that you will be kept in a pool for future fulfillment. I am a fresher, what should I do?
Study the basics of program testing. Read some articles on the basic concepts of program testing in this site or browse through Wikipedia or some lovely web resource or book. Do not go to the interview without knowing the difference between quality assurance & quality control. Make some conscious effort to understand the fundamentals of the program testing domain.
What should I watch?-
* If the address of the company is not very concerned about the quality or do not know much about it, then you and your team might have a difficult time.
* If you and your team have to rely on developers around, then something is wrong. Instead, developers must rely on you to product knowledge, understanding requirements, etc.
* If the company does not have some type of quality assurance in place, their efforts in quality control will be either worthless or very painful.
* If you or the company believes that software testing is for non-performers, they are sentenced then to you all.
Who should apply for a job in software testing?
* If you have poor communication skills (will have to do much more to write and discuss what you can imagine)
* If you do not like the work of a minute (they will have to investigate things through a magnifying glass while maintaining a bird's eye view at the same time)
* If you are impatient and want to see results from every minute or so (you have to do a lot of waiting and the curse in this field)
* If you have not read this article word for word (If this phrase caught the attention while you were brushing their satisfaction score on a test of the software work will be only 2.5 of 100)
